Most people have questions about what will happen to their property, children and debts when they go through a dissolution. Unfortunately, it is not possible to answer these questions without getting specific information about your situation. General questions and answers are on our FAQ page. If you have more specific questions, you will need to make an appointment.
If you make an appointment to see the attorney concerning a family law issue, you will need to provide the attorney the date of marriage, the names and ages of yourself, your spouse and any children you have. In addition, it is helpful if you have a list of all the property that you own, including real estate and retirement benefits, debts owed at that time and knowledge concerning your income and that of your spouse.

If any paperwork has been filed by either party, bring in your copy of all paperwork. If you are a grandparent and want custody or visitation with your grandchildren, bring in a copy of the divorce decree or the paternity order.

Testimonials:

"I retained Janice Palmer to represent me in a dispute over the custody of my son.  That was in 2000.  Since that time she has represented me through thick and thin.

When I first saw Janice, she did not sugar coat what my risks were in trying to get custody of my son.  I was hesitant about having a female lawyer because I didn't have much faith in any female.  However, after the first time we went into the court room, my views changed.  I was impressed with her courtroom, my views changed.  I was impressed with her courtroom demeanor, I was so glad she was on my side.

She let me know up front what the risks were and continued to explain to me what was going on as the case proceeded through the courts.  Needless to say, after what felt like a battle that lasted forever, I obtained custody of my son.

I am greatly indebted to her for making it possible for me to have the great relationship that I have with my son.

When friends ask for an aggressive attorney for family matters, I always give them Janice's name and phone number.  I strongly recommend Janice to anyone who has custody or support problems.  She tells it straight and true."
